I was lucky to obtain an AVO against my ex-husband and his guns were confiscated, he appealed and got off simply because my representative that provided to me by the police did not have a clue of my case till the second she got to court, so she played russian rulet with my life. Months later he drunk drove with my two children and had my 6 yr old on his lap steering the car as he was that drunk and when I went to report this, the police said"Do you really want to put your children through this" ? HOW DISGUSTING shame on you Mr attorney or whoever the hell you are to slightly even lean towards an argument about this. Would you be sitting there and commenting in the same manner if they were pictures of your wife,daughter or your son's grave -

I hope your Plea For Justice programme is only the start of increasing exposure of the criminal justice system in NSW. As a public servant Nicholas Cowdery has an obligation to explain himself to a public that is increasingly mystified and offended by the growing examples of so called criminal justice being delivered in NSW today. It would have been a good opportunity for Mr Cowdery to appear on Sixty Minutes and explain and justify, if not the specific decision to accept a plea bargain in the case of Karl Koch, then the policy of the DPP on this issue in general. That he declined to be interviewed could be interpreted as a belief in his own immunity from reasoned public opinion. It is a pity that in the interview with John Hatzistergos that it was not pointed out that the case against Koch was arguably strong by DPP standards, and that any grounds for accepting a plea bargain are all the more lacking in substance as a result.
