I had Dimitri as my landlord, and he was friendly and very fair. In fact all us as tennants had no problem with him at all. I think the show was a bit extreme, i have met far worse lanlords in Bondi, at least Dimitri tries to establish a relationships with his tennants. Also, he lets to backpackers on limited funds, what do they expect, a hotel? -

I have a couple of foreign friends who rented from this guy. They say the problem is not doing anything wrong – they have always paid their rent on time - it’s doing anything DIMITRI DOESN’T LIKE! His operation is all cash-in-hand so that if they ask for the same fair treatment as an Aussie then he gets really aggressive and starts making threats. But of course since there’s nothing on paper – so they couldn’t go to the authorities. If you have so far done everything that this guy wants then yeah I’m sure he’s super nice to you. -

i've known Dimitri for many years as an Bondi icon and a great and absolutely friendly guy. Bondi Beach is visited by thousands of backpackers and travellers from many countries and backgrounds and with different plans to enjoy their stay. Many of them don't have enough money, work part time or don't work at all. And most of them want to party - it's Bondi!!! And that's something that every landlord around this place should consider when providing accommodation, short or long term. I can't believe that channel 9 is calling a great resident and role model for many a "landlord from hell", when he's only being reasonable and fair and is trying to keep this community nice and decent. Why don't you look at some other cockroach infested and run down properties where the landlords squeeze in as many people as possible and don't care about the condition of their estate..... -

O yes that's right my bad .... broadcasting in this country is payed for by hours upon hours of useless advertising isn't it which people usually mute use tivo or some alternative to get rid of? Still some poor cameraman had to stand in the baking sun filming my friend while some reporter also probably sweating at the brow asks questions that have nothing to do with the general public. I thought this was a news channel anyway not a gossip channel. -

i fully agree with everything that was said about dimitri in this report. he treated us like dogs from the first day we moved in2 his property.we found we could not even relax in our own 'home" the house was over crowded with only 1 bathroom he entered the property unannounced including entering bedrooms. on multiple occasions he threatened to evict us over minor thing including the house not being to his high standards. We also find it very insulting to be compared to children when we are all grown adults. -

If you pay on time, do not damage the property, do not have drunken parties you will never have problem with Dimitri. I think it is very fair. I personally had problem with tenants that were not paying for 2 months, totally destroyed everything and I could not do anything but to apply to CTTT and wait another months. Those tenants paid for one week and then stopped paying again. As a result I have lost more than 3 months of rent. What the landlord suppose to do if the system is failing? -

Dimitri is a close friend of mine and to hear that a minority of his tenants that have stayed in his accommodation have complained about his tactics as a land lord is sad to hear. I had a friend from the UK that he put up for close to two months and all I can say is that he treated them like family. Why Nine would feel the need to waste tax payers money airing a story about him and his friends is beyond me when there are far more serious issues that should be broadcast with regards to Bondi like council revenue raising from parking meters. -
