The thing is some children who are just throwing tantrums will kick, scream, bite. A kid throwing a tantrum with a step dad, might yell, "you're not my dad". For a person, just walking by with a split second to decide, it's going to be hard to tell whether it's a tantrum or something else. The guys who stopped to help, first stopped to listen and erred on the side of caution. Unfortunately, most people aren'1- going to stop and listen. 2-Aren't that brave. As one of the passersby said, she thought someone else would take care of it. -

This is an interesting question. Will anyone help Your child?..... I think that the video displayed only part of the reaction of real people. Just based on the fact that the actor in the test did not display the actions of a child in REAL distress. Her actions were those of a disobedient child, one who all to commonly in public might say something like " You're NOt My Dad "... I think the reaction of the public might be different if the person in distress was actually trying to get away from the offender, with actual screaming and kicking and biting.....like a kid who REALLY wanted to get away would do. I just don't think that this test gave a real definative depiction of how the public might react in a REAL life situation. It's A Fact....... THE SCREAM OF A CHILD IN DISTRESS GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE BONE. ( UNLESS YOU'RE A HEARTLESS PERSON ). -
