Seas of Shame
description: July 20: We’re not exaggerating, the junk we throw away is literally choking the great oceans of the world. Huge stretches of once-pristine sea are now just a plastic soup.

All I would like to say is SHAME on our government for not taking the first step in April to do something about the plastic bags. Yes it was a small step, but it would have been the beginning of the next move - to reducing packaging. Bagsmart and other groups have worked tirelessly for the last 5 years to educate the retailer, general public and towns on how to go about it. And yes we were ready for the change. Now we are back to where we started. Why do we have to DRAG OUR FEET around and why can't anyone make a decision and stick with it? Are we going to wait until it is much too late? What legacy are we going to leave for future generations - what will our kids think about us? We do not have any more time to spare WE NEED TO ACT NOW. Our planet IS our future, everyone has to have more respect for it. What a eye opener your show was. Thank you so much debbie@easylivinggreen.com.au -
