what they mean by loose the gun probably doesn't mean "don't own a gun at all" they more than likely are referring to the fact that it is very illegal in most parts of Canada to carry a gun on you, unless you are out hunting or at a shooting range. where as in the states, a lot of places allow you to "carry a gun for protection" which is just a bad policy imo. -

Canadian Axis is incorrect as well when it comes to firearms as well. In Canada it is possible to walk around with a firearm legally provided you are one of the rare lucky few that has manged to aquire a permit to carry a firearm. This is a really rare permit that and in fact know of only two people in my home province that carried a concealed firearm legally. One was a judge who passed away a few years back and he carried two on his person if I do recall right. -
