Orient Road Jail is not a protective custody facility. The charges of these inmates were attempted murder, cocaine trafficing, obstruction, and home invasion. It sounds as though they are deserving of their bars and orange coveralls, Irish. But this video also shows what I've already stated: not all inmates are animals. It sounds as though you have a lot of experience with correctional services and I won't fault you for that. For all I know you are a victim of your socio-economic station in life (I hate the status quo). I hope you are on a better, less destructive, path. I don't say this to mock...I work for an organisation that helps ex-convicts readjust to the outside and become active contributing members of society. -

I'm from the old school...well..maybe not as old as your school...but, I grew up, so tossing around labels like "poser" really deserves no merit here. I've done the Sill Apps, to the West detention to the Hurst, if you know what I'm sayin'...all the way up....not cuz I'm dumb...you gotta gain a little more person in his environment perspective to grasp anything really, to do with human behaviour...but, I'm saying that the people who are really deserving of those bars, and orange coveralls...would never have helped that goof CO -

Anyway SeanJuan.....I know where Millhaven is, it's in Bath...and I know it's as big as it gets in Ontario...just as Stoney is in Manitoba..or Prince Albert in Sask....get over that..but, it's also classification for those small timers you're talkin' about. I'm talkin' about like PC (protective custody), but you knew that...type of facilities..the Beaver Creeks of the world....punk...this is what this fac. look like to me. -

i completely agree with sean. hey has anyone ever heard the saying, only dumb criminals get caught ;) if you people believe the only people in prison are rapists and murderers, then YOU have been watching too much tv! -

oh yeah....and inmates in a lower security institution aren't predominantely rapists or child molesters. The population is also comprised of folks who have committed less serious crimes and, or pose little threat. But, I'll concede on the point that I shouldn't have stepped on your personal opinion. -

Well, Irish, for 6 years (1999-2005) I was a CO (or "Boss" as they called me) at Millhaven, which is a max security facility. I've seen first-hand the relationships guards and inmates garner with one another. Granted, it isn't all chummy, "let's go out for beers when you get out" friendships, but we have a healthy respect for one another. Not all inmates are animals - which is what I was attempting to forward. You just sound like one who's watched too many prison movies (and keep in mind, the net is full of posers). -

"i think these inmates may have shown there true colours or are trying to be better people which is why they are also refered to as rehabilitation centres. not everyone can stand by and watch a man get his throat slit or what not. maybe they have just had enough with murder and WANT THE SH*T TO STOP! uhh guys.. the inmate who got on the phone isn't white, this isn't a race thing. So ignorant. And irish guy, 1) you say the deputy is the "real enemy" when technically, the prisoners are the real enemies. Just because they don't want another human to die doesn't make them a "snitch," it makes them human. and 2) well done using proper punctuation to sound like a complete moron.. what a poser. -

Sean1974, you're steppin' outta line there takin' a crack at someone's personal opinions...I've done my time, and I've survived it, cuz I'm not a rat. If you went to a prison faciility, and you were serving time there, and someone wanted to try and beat on a guard..you would NOT be steppin' in. I believe if you were to read the whole story, including where the facility is, and who it facilitates, I'm sure you'd probably see that it's a minimum to medium security sister facility, there's no way this is maximum security. The guys who are even doing time here are more than likely child molestors and rapists, protective custody cases -

not a big surprise. prisons are designed to hold and rehabilitate criminals. inmates and guards often form some kind of friendship in order to maintain order and keep things running smoothly. or else u would see a prison riot every other day. plus not everyone in prison is a convicted murdered or rapist. maybe there humanity kicked in and said *cant let this happen!* bravo to them. have none of you really had this type of feeling come over you? if not..very sad, unless u stay inside day by day and never experience anything lol -

I especially get a charge out of you, Irish. "Rat's", "Snitches", "CO is the real enemy"? LOL Is this the same mentallity you'd espouse in non-prison society? I'd only take you seriously if I knew for a fact that you actually spent time on the inside, which I doubt. These guys are neither 'rats', nor 'snitches.' They are humans who saw something wrong happening to someone and they stood up and did what was right. -

God, some people really are stupid.. they expect everyone in jail to be evil killers just like in the movies.. seriously do you think they'd let them run around freely like that if they were all bad cases? (cause they obviously were allowed free roam of the place, seeing how many of them were there, it wasn't a jailbreak) -

prisoners are people too man ive never been "in the joint" but i know some real nice people who have you shouldnt be surprized In america people go to jail that shouldnt for example someone who smokes weed and gets caught should NEVER see the inside of a jail hes not hurting anyone you can completly desrtoy a mans life with 6 mounth in jail and i think we all need to rethink the peanal system but thats just my opinion LOL ; ) -
