Thats actually really bad, that bird is going to or has already died. When birds are touched by humans they are shunned and ignored from the rest. That's why people aren't supposed to touch robin eggs and geese eggs. Some species of birds do do this and seagulls do do it. -

Can someone explain to these people what animal cruelty is? If she'd caught it and snapped its neck and thrown its carcass to the side, then I'd be right up there with the torches and pitchforks with you, but she didnt hurt it for gods sakes. Since your all comparing this seagull to a human ("how would you like it if I scared and captured you") are you famaliar with horror movies? We try to scare outselves. That has next to nothing to do with the arguement, but seriously, the animal was not harmed and it probably lived a long life eating garbage after this was done. -

Its not a question of whether the bird was fine.. there was just no point in doing such a thing. It seems to me like she's the one that needs to find something better to do. Wildlife is not here for our entertainment. And as for the catching and tagging of canadian geese.. there is a reason that needs to be done and its professionals that do it.. decreasing the risk of injuries or death. These people got lucky by not hurting this bird but they didnt know that wasn't going to happen going into it. If we don't need to interfere with wildlife we just shouldn't. Let the poor thing be. And for the person that says we value animals as much as humans.. why shouldnt we? Theres alot we can learn from animals and im reminded of the Ghandi quote "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." If thats true, im embarassed to be a part of a nation that thinks this is ok. -
